Around Iceland’s Ring Road

September 2012

Iceland has my vote for the greatest scenery in the world. Not only for its sheer beauty, but also for its wide variation in landscapes throughout the country. Driving around the Ring Road was an experience in passing through entirely new worlds: desolate lands stretching with volcanic rock, lush farmlands flocked with sheep and occasional hideaways carved into soft hillsides, colorful cities reworking corrugated metal into art.

We’re currently planning to find our way back to Iceland, possibly with bikes in tow!
